Day 8 - Venice, Italy

Today we toured Venice. As a change of pace from what we've been doing, we didn't go to too many sights. Rather, we just walked through the streets and along the canals, window shopping and looking for cheap cappuccino. We found a place that had a good price and ordered a few cups. Finding cheap cappuccino is not an easy task as there is generally one price for standing at the bar and drinking it (which is cheaper) and another for sitting down and drinking it (which is more expensive). We found a place that charged the same for both and was cheaper than any other place we'd asked. We were glad about that, but it's these little expenses that start to get VERY annoying, such as paying for water at dinner (to the tune of about 2 dollars per glass!) or paying to use a toilet (about 75 cents!). We've definitely come to appreciate the free things you get in America.
