Day 4 - Berchtesgaden, Germany

We stayed in Salzburg last night with the intention of going to Berchtesgaden today (a short bus ride back into Germany). Berchtesgaden is famous for two things--it's salt mines and Hitler's "Eagle's Nest" nearby. We went to the salt mines. Here, there is literally a lake underground. In a cave that is about 40 feet high, water fills all but the top 10 feet where we were able to take a boat ride across the "lake" of salt water from which they extract the salt for mining. we intended to go to Eagle's Nest, but it didn't work out, so we continued on to Vienna where we're staying the next two nights. Until then...

  1. Hichelle was so excited to get Taylor's call. We are working hard for the Kick Off of the Summer BFC Youth Ministries with Michelle coordinating the dinner with 4 ladies she recruited and I coordinating the program. Aubree is coming to help and beginning the redesign of the Youth House. I am encouraging her to go to Hume. Dan
