This was our first day in Rome. We started the day by visitng the Roman forum (ancient Roman ruins) and the Colosseum. It was something else to see such a grand structure that is so old. The floor of the Colosseum was elevated with something like tunnels running underneath in order to allow animals into the arena from underground! After the Colosseum we visited the Pantheon and the Trevi fountain. We called it a day at around 3 and took naps. Ashley and Mike went out to dinner for their anniversary at a quintessential Italian restaurant.
The last two days we've been more-or-less in mourning because the iPad which was holding all our pictures crashed. Thankfully, many of the pictures were saved on dropbox and not lost, but any pictures that had not been saved to Dropbox are gone forever (about 4 days worth) :(
